lough braaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay

after a long absence nice to get back to braay even if we didn't get much done before rain came. did what might be a new line up the right most end of grand hotel (wtf?) boulder. short but worthy problem using rh crack and lh on arete up to nose. tried rainbow until the rain came, starting on the jug to the right felt like i could link it which i 've never done before, normally only able to get standing start.

  1. The original grand hotel boulder in the Plantation in Stanage. It thus named as the cave under it was considered a particularly good bivi site. Its the boulder with 'Not to be taken away' on it. Apparently the name of that problem is a that Not to be taken away' used to be written on ashtrays and the like in to holels. This is funny cause the boulder is huge and it would be very difficult to remove it.

    Having said all this I don't think the name Grand Hotel really is apt for the boulder in Lough Bray - it doesn't stand up to any scrutiny and seems to be just a direct copycat. Blame Kev Cooper.
